Antonia Fabian

Antonia is a born and raised, first-generation Angeleno of Salvadoran roots. As a child, Antonia was a street vendor who sold fruits, vegetables and other Salvadoran products with her great-grandmother and mother. She moved to Van Nuys when she was nine years old, where she lived for eighteen years. Antonia has since moved to Sun Valley two years ago. She has an associate’s degree in mathematics from Los Angeles Valley College. Additionally, she has a bachelor's degree from UCLA in Education and Social Transformation and a master’s degree in Social Research Methodology from UCLA as well.

Antonia’s career has spanned over ten years, where she worked in retail and food during her time in community college. Since then, her career spanned its way through higher education, where she wore several hats, from a tutor to a teaching assistant. Post graduate school, Antonia worked as a consultant for the Los Angeles County. As a consultant, she worked with the American Rescue Plan Act that allocated Los Angeles with Covid relief funds made possible by the Biden Administration. Additionally, she was a researcher at UCLA who worked with interdisciplinary education programs.

As a born and raised Angeleno, first-generation college graduate, previous street vendor, Antonia has seen and experienced several different walks of life. Her experience at UCLA opened her eyes to how different life is for the ones who live in Westwood, than the ones who live in the Northeast side of the San Fernando Valley, even though they are only a few miles apart.

This began her journey with environmental justice as she believes environmental justice is another form of social justice. Antonia is an advocate for a better life, a brighter future, a healthier San Fernando Valley, and she is excited to put years of experience to use at Pacoima Beautiful. When she is not working, you can find Antonia at the dog park with partner, their golden retriever, and their two little chugs (chihuahua pugs).
