YUTEP's Leadership Council body serves as a visible and positive supporter of YUTEP's program's development efforts. YUTEP Leadership council is comprised of students from various high schools across the Northeast San Fernando Valley, they come together to lead YUTEP meetings. Through the leadership council, students make decisions on how YUTEP will be operate and what topics they will cover at each meeting.
Additionally, each member within the leadership council has a specific role that they contribute to YUTEP. These roles include: social media, communications, outreach, campaigns, mental health, fundraisers/events and research. The leadership council works collaboratively to bring their expertise and experiences into the YUTEP space to facilitate an engaging environment. At the end of each academic year, positions are up for election where students vote on who they would like to see fill that position.
